FRANKLIN, Louisiana - It’s no longer a prototype. The bugs have been sorted, it’s street legal, the price has been set and orders are being invited for what its creator calls the ultimate superbike.

I am sure that you will be able to find the contact info, somewhere /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Re: Wow, here\'s one for the bikers!!

I guess that company saw a great market demand for a $150,000 motorcycle. Yamaha Venture suits me fine.

Well I thought about it, for about a minute, sure I did. I figured that I just couldn't use it to it's full potential. You know, living here in the mountains and all. About the time that I got it wound out in that quarter mile, there would be one of those 90deg curves. I'm sure that it doesn't stop as fast as it takes off.... /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Re: Wow, here\'s one for the bikers!!

What got me was 425 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm. Now that's useable power. And it runs on diesel, or K1. Why isn't Chrysler putting these in sedans, or trucks? No one else would, and they already did. Maybe it's time - I know, they're expensive, but a redesign, with a low operating rpm would greatly reduce costs, I bet. They're simple to start with, and the electronics (as mentioned in the seller's blurb) are available to allow automatic correct starting - even proper shutdown, I'll bet.

Chrysler already experimented with a military truck, and perhaps a commercial truck, decades ago. Now we need a tractor.

You're behind the times...it's already been done. Turbine tractor

I have ceased being surprised at my own igorance. As I've said before, losing my sense of humor would leave me with no sense at all. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: Wow, here\'s one for the bikers!!

I guess I always thought they were more efficient. But the air handling issues should be solvable with modern tech, and again, low rpm torque would require less air intake - maybe better fuel use? Or worse? Any turbine specialists out there? I'm clueless.
