Steve,
You can go to WR Long's website and do a dealer search. I did it last month.

Did That, the dealers close to me were not interested and didn't even know they were listed on WR Longs site.
Just thought I'd let one of the member dealers here make a few dollars.

Thanks!

Steve it seems I remember at one time that if there was not a reasonably local WR Long dealer in the area they would sell to you direct. Give them a call, they are very good with customer service.

Steve:

I have a Fasse valve setup for a WR Long grapple that works fine on a Kubota L4310. Ask your local dealer(s) if they're familiar with the maker.

Only problem with the electro-hydraulic version that I've encountered is that the joystick needs to be in the "loose or neutral" position- if its in an "active" loader or curl position, it drains the battery when you walk away.

Steve,

Contact Wallace Tractor. I just got my 4in1 bucket thru them. When I got my WR Grapple, I had the local dealer install it. Was not pleased with their work. I decided to support Wallace as he is a WR Long Dealer, although not local to me. Great service from them.

W.R. Long's policy to not sell direct is really puzzling. Or perhaps I should say puzzling since it seems to rather difficult to find a dealer within a reasonable distance that knows anything about their product, or is willing to give a price. And yes, these are dealers listed on W.R. Longs website. Seems to me they are losing money by having dealers who apparently view it as too much trouble to sell W.R. Long's product.

WRLong will not sell direct but any dealer can give them a call and become a WRLong dealer in one phone call and for just one order. Pretty simple. WRLong just doesn't want to bypass dealers altogether but they make it exceedingly easy for any local tractor shop to become a dealer overnight.

The problem is "most" local tractor shops aren't interested in taking the time to order from someone they don't normally deal with.
That's why I came here to give my money to a dealer that "is" interested.

This is exactly what the business I wanted to buy from did and they seemed happy to do so. I had the tooth bar I wanted in just a few days. I just took the information in and they got right on it.

Exactly. WRLong products are not cheap and one reason is that they pay decent commissions to the dealers. I understand it is no big deal to become one of their overnight dealers so unless business is awfully good, it would make sense for a small tractor dealer to take a one time order from a customer. I'm sure Nelson will try to sell them on being a stocking dealer but I believe a good part of WR Longs business is this type of single intermittent transaction.

Steve,
if your dealer is not interested in helping you get what you need then you need to switch dealers. I bought a grapple from WRLong. I went to my dealer and asked if he could order it for me. They had never delt with WR Long but made a call, got me my grapple. I didn't even buy my tractor from them but have bought a couple implements.

I had the same thing happen to me. Went to the web site and found two dealers within 15 miles of me. Drove down, walked in and neither place acted like they had ever heard of WR Long.

I ended up buying from a different manufacturer over the internet. I had a couple of grand burning a hole in my pocket and ready to spend locally, they sent my on my way. Go figure.

It would seem to me that if someone walking in the door wanted to spend some money I would do what I could to make sure they spent their money with me. Any way if our local dealer is not interested in picking up the phone to call me I have many around that will be happy to work with a customer and have our products dropped shipped to them. If there is a next time please call.

dangerdoc, sorry we lost your business.

We have two dealers competing with each other across the street. Both of them act like they don't need the business of little guys like me. Who knows maybe they don't.

I appreciate your response, next time I need something, I'll definately keep you in mind. You might want to remove some of your "dealers" though, they aren't doing you justice.

Thanks to everyone for the replies!!

The local dealers that were not interested were not "my" dealers and that's exactly the reason I drove 100 miles to a good Kubota dealer that treated me right to buy my L3240.

I called that ("my") dealer today and he offered to sell me the OEM Kubota kit for about the same price as WR Longs, so it will be here later this week.

I know the WR Long is a great product and in the future when I'm looking to purchase one of their products I'll give Nelson a call.

Also Rick Wallace promptly replied to my PM to him and graciously offered to order the WR Long kit for me but I decided to go for the Kubota offering.

Thanks again!
Steve
