WR Long elec over hyd valve help!

Brian,
I can, but it won't be until next weekend as my tractor is on my property out of state. Going there next week. My install looked a lot like this poster who installed his on his MX. I have a few differences. He hooked his power wire to the starter. I found one that is key activated under the panel.

BTW, Brian, I contacted you earlier in the week about getting the tilt hydraulic setup for my tractor. I should have an answer on the QD size too.
Cheers,

HP

That's right, sorry to have bothered you about that. I was thinking that your dealer had purchased one from me. :confused3: I had shipped out a side link for an L5740 a week or so ago. Thanks for the link, those are some good pictures. I had missed that thread. If you don't mind though, would you still get some pictures of your finished installation? ;)

No bother Brian. I'll snap some pictures and get them posted in about a week or so.

Brian,

Don't know what happend to me taking pics before, but here are some now. My valve WR Valve.jpgWR Long Valve.jpgRocker Switch.jpg has the orange hose attached to it, not the green one.

Hope this helps.

Brian,
As requested...here are the pictures of the W.R. Long 3rd function install.

As you can see, the line attached to the PB on the loader valve was the one with green tape. (I looped it once to take up the excess length.) That is removed from the loader valve and attached to the electric over hydraulic valve. The supplied short hose goes from the loader valve to the electric over hydraulic valve.

I just used zip-ties to keep the hoses where I wanted them.

I routed the single power wire up under the dash. I only had to remove the 4 bolts and slide the panel up. Looked in the manual for a wire that was on a 10 amp circuit that had power when the key is turned on.

Thanks for the pictures guys. I hate to be a bother, but aren't there 5 hydraulic lines that go to and from the 3rd function valve? I see 5 lines, but I can only make out 4 that actually go into and out of the valve itself. :ashamed:

First of all I would like to thank all those who posted installation info and pictures. I hooked up my WR Long electric over hydraulic valve yesterday on my Kubota, L4330 with an LA 853 loader. It took me about 4 hours, 1 1/2 hours of which was spent looking for a hot wire to tie into and then routing the wire. I finally just ran a wire all the way back to the positive post on the battery as I don't have shop manuals. I installed the 10 amp fuse next to the positive terminal on the battery. Not a big deal. My Long valve mounts differently than Herkypilot's. The Long valve mounts on a nicely formed, painted bracket under the loader valve using two of the loader valve mounting bolts (new longer bolts were supplied in the WR Long kit). Plumbing was very simple. WR Long gets a big thumbs up as the kit was very complete and functions well. All hoses and fittings were tight and well made up. The Long valve came with to 90 degree fittings installed in the P & T ports as well as QD's (male & Female) installed in the cylinder ports. I did have to rotate the tank fitting on the Long valve 90 degrees as the new 3/8 tank hose supplied required it to do a 180 due to length. This required loosing the valve mounting bracket to gain access to the fitting. I then left the valve mounting bracket loose, until all hoses were hooked up so that the correct hose routing could be achieved, then I tightened the bracket and lastly tightened the hyd. fittings. I also took the QD fittings off the cylinder hoses so that they would fit in a full length (13 feet) protective sleeve and reinstalled them after both hoses were through the sleeve. I am very pleased with the arrangement. The entire assembly is nice, clean and well protected and looks like it is part of the tractor, not an add on. Note: The only thing the kit did not contain were two dust caps for the supplied quick disconnect fittings installed in the Long valve. These will be required when removing the FEL from the tractor. The primary use for the valve will be to operate a log grapple. Sorry no pictures yet, I'll have to read up on how to attach them.

Thanks again,
Peter

Brian,
Only 4 lines - power beyond to the W.R. Long valve - to the hydraulic block (green labeled line) and the two output/input lines to the front. They have the quick disconnects. These two lines really just make a loop and the electric valve ports fluid in either direction.

OK, thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm not sure why, but I always thought that they were plumbed like a regular valve and had power beyond, pressure and a tank lines, but I guess not.
