All I can say is wow. Beautiful building.

Looks very nice, but why go with those raised trusses when the door height is so much lower then the lower part of the trusses? Seems like a huge additional expense without any benefit.

We used them in the living area for ceiling height. Customer wanted the in the rest of building also

Whatever makes the customer happy.

True, clients have a way of spending more on a project then they need to and it's easier and smarter to do it their way if that's what they insist on doing. I've had them crying about not having enough money to do what they really want, and then see them buy a $300 doorknob because nothing else matched their $1,200 ceiling light. So we went with the cheap $1 a square foot flooring instead of something that would last and look good. Gotta love clients and the way they think!!!

Same issue here. I did everything I could to get them in their price range. Then they bought knotty alder doors. Had to have the cupolas which cost me $2600.

Now she is pregnant with twins and everything she was suppose to be taking care of has fallen by the wayside.

While looking for our interior doors I ran across northwestern (Oregon IIRC) alder. Very nice looking, beautiful wood. The price :eek: We don't have alder doors.

That's a nice looking building.

Yes I know about the price. Customer bought them off EBay. They were made in Mexico. About half or less what I quoted from lumber yard.

Look nice. We'll see how well they stand up. The double front door was shipped unassembled. So I'll be charging extra on that.

Well still trying to wrap this up. The lady is pregnant with twins and due in Dec. Her husbands business is balls to the walls and I'm trying to help them get the interior finished. A few pictures of the front porch mortise and tenon work.

The posts on the front porch are 8x8 western cedar and I trimed the bottom and top with 2x8 cedar. Need to get some newer pictures. Hopefully we'll have temporary power this week. UGH!

Some pictures of the stairs. I used 4"x12" red oak for the treads.

Where do you buy 4x12 oak? I can get 8x8 cedar easily enough, but I've never seen oak in that size available anywhere!!!!
