All--

I changed the oil in my Mahindra 5545 (9 quarts) and my Komatsu SK1020-5 Turbo (10 quarts) skid steer today. I decided to use 15W-40 in the tractor and 10W-30 in the skid steer, using the temperature range shown in their respective manuals.

Except, I screwed up. I flipped them: The 10W-30 went into the tractor and the 15W-40 went into the skid steer.

Should I do it all over with new filters and oil?

I only feel stupid when I think about it.

same I would leave it ... if something flush only the skid steer and keep the oil for next oil change for your tractor ... definitely leave your filter in you didn't used it its sill new

Don't think it matters. I'd use 10w30 in both. If they're both cooled by coolant, the oil has to stand up to about 210-230 F from the 195 F thermostat in the coolant. Doesn't matter what the outside temperature is.

Gentlemen!

Thank you for the assurances and advice. I will pick one weight and stick to it next time around. The good news is I never told my wife I tossed $258 down the drain.

What oil did you buy that cost $258 for 19 quarts and 2 filters?
