Hey fellas, been plowing with my x475 with the 54" quick hitch front blade for quite some time now and the smaller snows i always wished for a wider blade, but on the heavy snow the 2wd tractor didnt push it well. But now, Im recently a new owner of a brand new John deere X738 with 4wd!!!!!! so I was wondering if there is a larger blade they make for these now? 62" would be nice, a 70" may be too big but just trying to cut down on my time. thanks for your help!

John Deere does ( or did ) make a 60" blade for the quick hitch. I found one brand new on eBay last year. Works great on my 4100 image.jpgimage.jpg

Here is something I saw on ebay, and the company's website. Blade looks the same as that other one. Snow Plow - Compact Tractor Attachments. Blade sizes in 60" and 66". And the ebay listing for the 66" size; John Deere 66" Snow Plow Out of Stock 3 5 WK Back Order | eBay.

thats exactly what i was looking for! sad thing is we only got to push snow once this year. had to salt a few times but depending on how the rest of this season goes i may order a 66" for next year! thanks for the info. we are in the 6-8" range of snow for tomorrow so its looking up!

Here are some pictures of my extended 54" blade. Used scraps from a rubber stall mat. The blade is now 72" wide & works great.

How long have you been running that plow with those extensions? Curious to how they are holding up.

I have the 60" model.. Its awesome!!! 2210 or 1 series would be the smallest tractor Id put it on. 66"er I wouldnt go smaller than a 2520. 2320 size might handle the 66" but no smaller..

Snow conditions do matter. I bought my 2210 with a 72" rear blade. Soon found out that in most snow conditions especially drifts the 2210 with no wheel weights or chains didn't have a prayer of pushing that 72. I am getting along much better with a 60" rear blade, which even with weights and chains can easily max out the little tractor when cleaning up snow drifts and pushing them out to the field, but i CAN manage to push through a foot of heavy, drifted snow.
