You could add a couple of bungee cords to the right side when you have the baggier attached. I know it sounds hooky, but it works and is easy to do.

Or I could fire up the lathe, knee mill, and TIG welder muwhahahaha!

I've mower side by side with w husqvarna pz60 and my gx335, cut quality is better from the zturn deck and it also does not bounce - very heavy deck. That said, you have to understand how each machine is engineered. To hang a 400# deck from a JD rider would require massive supports and much more $$$, hence the cost of a pro-z machine. When you spend $7k on a Deere garden tractor you are buying a better tractor, capable of many attachments, not necessarily a better mower specifically. It has to do it all.

Thank you for posting your experiences with the JD 380. I am looking at one to mow about 2 acres on the farm. The wife wants the rear bagger. The dealer says that adds $1,400 to the $4,400 quote I got for the 54" deck. Anyone have a less expensive way to capture mostly grass and a few leaves in the fall?

Also, is there any way to change having to reset things every time you back up?
I don't require excessive safety features.
Thanks.

There are ways to handle the reverse shut-off.. I tend to let the owners figure it out themselves... locating the switch that senses pushing the reverse pedal is the main objective if defeating RIO (reverse implement option) is the mission.

We'll see how it works on pine cones and pine needles the bane of my existence. I have 11 large fir trees and this stuff rains down at times.

I have the X 758 and the three bag Power Flow it works great on pine needles . Only problem the bags fill very fast .

The main reason I upgraded from a 100 series to a x749 was for raking pine needles on customer lawns. Bought the pine straw rake, 3pt hitch kit has basically solved the pine needle raking problem. Works great and allows me to get in most areas to rake under the pine trees.

About a year after getting the mower I added the MC 519 cart. The 19 bushel capacity is much less trouble for large lawns and the blower works well. I usually mow without it and use it once or twice a year for clean up purposes. My preference is to mulch and leave the nutrients in place for the most part.
