Hello, new to the site but finding great info already. I recently bought an X585, great tractor. I am installing a Used Kwik way loader on the machine. I custom built brackets and have mounted the loader. I'm running into problems with the hydraulics though, I teed into the mainline going between the pump and the separator box( not sure of correct name) and then teed into the main return line between the oil cooler and rear end( reservoir). The loader works but I lose power steering unless I use one of the loader functions. I will have to move my wet line connection but not sure where to, I was thinking about the backside of the valve, any suggestions ? Also the loader went up fine but wouldn't go down until I removed the cap from behind the lever, then the valve would go far enough to lower the bucket, any ideas ?

why didn't you use the 2scv that the tractor already has?
with quick connects?

Hi, I didn't use the quick connects because I didn't want to use the levers by steering wheel. The loader I bought already has levers on it. The John Deere levers control everything at the same time, the loader, three point and mid mount mower deck thus resulting in slower hydraulics and everything going to the ground at the same time. JD does make a isolation valve but then you have to open or close it every time you go from front loader work to box scraper work. It would be nice to be able to go back and forth with out having to get on and off the tractor every 30 seconds lol. I
Know there's a war to do it just haven't gotten her done yet.

the valves have to be in series, you basically ran the valvs parallel. the way you have it plumbed, all the flow is going thru the loader valve back to the sump while in neutral. and when you operate one of the loader functions, there is enough resistance to force some of the oil to the PS.

Thank you, that makes sense... So if I found another place to run the return, that had back pressure, it would fix the power steering problem ?? Any ideas on the loader not going down, or would that fix that problem to by putting back pressure on the valve ??

You are not supposed to have back pressure, back pressure is not good, will work against the flow and pressure. , .

All valves should be in series, and rated for high pressure.

You could go to your loader valve first after the pump and feed the JD valve from the new loader valve PB port..

Thank you, yea I don't suppose I meant back pressure but a constant pressure rather tha just a straight shot thru the loader valve and back into the reservoir. That's a great idea, straight from the pump to the loader valve then to the JD valve. I wouldn't have to mess with the pressure relief valve on the loader attachment either right ? Well would I go from the pump to the loader valve than to the hydraulic splitter or block then to the valve ? Instead of putting in the tee, it would be a straight line, so the power steering and all other functions would still work the way they should ?

The first valve in the series flow path should set the relief for the hyd system.

Probably set then all the same.

Thank you for the info, I'll be heading home in the next hour or so. I will measure for some hoses and get them made tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes

You will have to figure out where JD comes out of the block for the flow into the loader valve, and return the flow from the new valve PB outlet to that point.
