From what people say in the forum the EFI kawasaki get between 1 and 1.25 GPH.

Buts that hear say only.

If so that's pretty darn good for that size of a machine. The gas X500 series machines get worse fuel mileage then that. All riding mowers should be fuel injected, this is 2012, get rid of carburetors, chokes, starting and warming issues. Plus, there just inefficient. Fuel injection on engines this small is simple simple simple.

I agree on the efi, everything is turning to efi.

I would like to see efi on air cooled engines between 8 and 15 hp.

I don't want to see Efi through John Deere, they usually need computers to diagnose and the parts prices go through the roof. The fuel injector for a 445 used to cost $175 and you could tune the 425 for less then that and that's buying new blades. Not only that when the fuel injector failed it could fill the crankcase with fuel and burn the motor up, seen it, very expensive. On the other hand if everything runs well it may pay off.
