ber72564, thanks for the info!

It looks like I'm going to need one at least an inch shorter for my cat1 limited box blade. It sits level to the ground when the top link is at 15", and at your 14.4" shortest length it would only be making about a 1/2" cut on level ground.

I now have some odd length cylinders available, so if we use a 5" stroke unit, it looks like you would be all set. I'm not sure how he is getting 14.4" collapsed, I am pretty sure that it was 14" , but I may be wrong, can't remember them all off the top of my head. :(

Great! message sent at your Fit Rite Hydraulics site.

Sorry guys, my 14.4 was a rough estimate based simply on the picture of the TL with the tape-measure next to it. I looked back at what Brian quoted and it was 14.25 - 20.25.

Also remember that if you use a Quick Attach of some sort, the geometry will be different than if you connect to your blade directly.

I am going to get a Quick Attach, and hope it doesn't change my geometry too much. If you use Pat's Quick Change it is even more different that if you use a more traditional Quick Attach. I knew trigonometry would mean something some day.

I took measurements both with and without the I-match quick hitch on and in my case it didn't seem to make much difference in the angle the box blade could tilt at ground level. That's probably because the I-match top hook and bottom hooks both extend out the same amount out from the 3pt arms and top link.

Even without having the hydraulic top link yet, hooking up the box blade to the I-match hitch has been much easier, don't have to get off the tractor at all since I can reach down and spin the manual top link from the seat.

My hydraulic top link is on order from Brian, he's building me one with a length of 13 1/2" to 18 1/2" which should work well with my cat1 limited box blade which has pins that are 3" lower than a standard blade.

The manual top link that came with the 3pt hitch kit has a range of 12 1/2" to 17".

Very nice! yeah a top link holder would be nice. Very surprised JD didn't think of that.
