XM Satlite Radio on Jojn Deere 2210

Hey guys be sure to look at the specs on the XM radio before hard wiring it in. If I'm not mistaken, the cigarette adapter is more than just a way of getting power. It also reduces the voltage to 6 volt. I'll never understand why they would build anything today with 6 volt power but I think that's what you'll find.

Because 4 AA batteries = 6v

Greg -

The enclosure has a rubber grommet at the bottom that allows the wires to enter.

You should be able to mount it in the same location. I don't know how you fastened your current cradle, but the enclosure has a locking ball-type swivel in the back to hold it in any desired position ( I assume the mounting hardware is the same as in the marine kit). There are two mounting plates included, one with an adhesive pad and the other has holes for screws. There it a short extension between the ball and the base that I believe can be removed to allow mounting close to a surface...............Steve

Thanks, Steve

I'm using the adhesive pad and swivel mount that came with the car mount kit. The car cradle slides onto the swivel mount, and locks into position. Does the marine cradle (enclosure) also slide connect onto the swivel mount? If so I may not have to change anything.

Good choice.

FYI the "noise cancelling" headphones are NOT rated for hearing protection...

/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I have received the headphones, they work great! The jack (intended for a scanner) works great with two way radios so I can talk back and forth to the house.

( I would like to use Bluetooth and fix it to also handle my cell phone. )

I was quite happily ignorant of what "Bluetooth" meant until today; only knew it had some relationship to the word "wireless". This thread didn't mean much to me either. But our youngest daughter got a new cell phone yesterday and showed it to her mother this morning. It included the Motorola HS820 headset. I told the kid she cost me money because then I had to get one for my wife today. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I still don't know anything about them, but I did finally manage to get it "paired" with the cell phone (had to buy a new cell phone, too, since the one we've had less than a year was not "Bluetooth compatible"). /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif But the manual for the headset says it "can store pairing information for up to eight different devices with Bluetooth wireless technology." Does that mean you could use it for both your cell phone and your satellite radio? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
