XR4150 no throttle, failure codes, difficulty w / LS support

I think I may have the same issue. It is an electronic throttle. Many report a similar issue. It works fine if you move the throttle about 3/8 to 1/2 inch up. My dealer told me the same thing, not covered under warranty. I think LS is screwing us, since it is a known fault. I have been using mine this way - never bottoming out the throttle - since last fall.

I'm taking it to Bruno's in Cabot tomorrow. Tried to go today, but work (thank God I have it) got in the way.

Something you may want to try.
The dealer suggested and it made sense, if you look at the pot (potentiometer) on the base of the throttle lever, you will see 2 screws in adjustable slots, similar to a set of points.
Mark the location, loosen the screws and try adjusting the position. The dealer said that these sometimes move and lose calibration. I tried and only succeeded in changing the idle and the rpm at which the failure occurred.
Make your own choice as to try it or not. Since mine will not pull a load at partial throttle (normally it would), I decided to try it before loading it on the trailer.

Thanks

Dee

Any updates, from the LS Dealer, on what's causing your problem?

I believe I am having a similar problem on mine. Was there any resolution to this?

I found if you open the throttle about 1/2 inch you have no problems. On mine 1/2 inch is about 1000 rpm. I am sure other hve had this issue but LS seems to be clueless. All they want to do sell you a new part!

Thanks for the reply. The further I dig into it, it seems that the code I am getting is related to the DPF sensors communicating with the ECU. When this signal is faulty, it affects the hand throttle signal, as the engine speed is controlled by the ECU. I'm not saying that the hand throttle assembly couldn't be a secondary issue, but I believe they are connected. As I read on here, some others have had this issue, and a software patch corrected the problem in about a half hour at the dealer. Mine is headed there this week, and I will report back with my findings.

who buys a tractor from a dealership 800 miles away?

who buys a tractor from a dealership 800 miles away?

I bought my first one from a dealer 550 miles away... I bought my second One from a dealer 650 miles away... maybe my third will be from 800 miles away! :D

And I thought I was perhaps making a mistake buying from a dealer 90 miles away. I feel better now. I think.:)

Got mine back from the dealer. It was the hand throttle assembly. He explained that since it is electronic, the ECU uses it's position to determine how to run, so when it can't get that information, it doesn't know what to do. It cost $250 for him to change it, but it seems to have fixed the issue. I need to put more hours on it to make sure it is not something else, but it seems better for now. It started acting like the fuel system was having an issue (plugged line, dirty filter, etc.). In reality, it was a fuel issue, but caused by a lack of input from the hand throttle.
