Last night I was heading towards home with the 850D XUV. Had the headlights on and upper cab lights on. Heater on low. Heater another thread. I had just switched heater on high. A minute later all lights go out and engine shuts off. No power to anything but 4 ways. It was dark so I ended up towing it back to garage and putting it away for evening. Looked at manual quick this morning before work. Fusebox under dash. Would there be one fuse that would take everything out but the 4 ways? Have a msg in to my dealer. All options installed are Deere short of the Curtis heater. Everything wired in as installation suggested. Will check fuses under dash first and go from there. Manual does mentioned any other fuses.

Found the problem when I got home. It was the F6 15 amp fuse (Ignition Switch ON Circuit) in the fuse box. Replaced and power restored. I think I know what happened. When I installed the Curtis heater there instructions said to tap into power at the 12 volt outlet. I didn't like that because the heater fan switch would be hot all the time. There was an extra plug over where I had connected the deluxe light kit. When I put the heater fan on high I must have overloaded that circuit. Going to have to change how the heater is powered an carry some spare fuses.

i had the same problem with my hpxthat why i had to put two go with an extra alternator . trust me if you run with everything like that again it will happen again. (been there done that)i was going down the road with my head lights on and my 4 overhead drivin lights and bam she shuts off sure enough the ignition fuse blew i blew 5 of them then i made the mistake of going with a size over well it got a bit to hot . like i said in my post when the xuv's came out they are a hpx with a diferent rearend but everything else is the same they never upgraded anything your best bet is to pop in another fuse block and run the lights to that but beware i went that route too and ended up with a dead battery because the stock charging system could not keep up with the lights and the battery . thats when i ended up going with a second battery and alternator and then all my problems were solved. if you use your overhead lights and drivin lghts use them in intermeadiat times but don't keep them on at all times . i find it funny you haven't blown the chargeing fuse yet. you might wanna check that fuse too.

I think you have a gas HPX correct. Manual states it has 21 amp output. That was raised to 25.5 in XUV. There is an optional alternator for the gas models rated at 60 amp. My 850D is rated at 40amps. I can see why you needed to add your output. I only have the two extra lights. With 40amp I might be ok.

Service department at my dealer sent me pdf of Deere heater installation. I see where they tapped the XUV wiring harness for the heater. Going to move my Curtis heater attachment point to same connector.

i know your putting out more amps but your problem is identical to what i went through when i had all my stuff running.it's really now a amp output problem it's a fuse block problem they should have put a bigger fuse on the ignition .what i did was run everything that i added on to my extra battery and i used the alternator to charge it.. before i put the alternator i used two batteries and the chargeing system couldn't keep up with the drain of the two batteries thats why i ended up with the blown fuses on the charging fuse. so i added a battery disconnect so that way when i have a dead battery i can just switch over to the good one if a fuse was to blow. i would add a second battery and a disconnect switch and see how that works out for you i second battery is always a good idea. trust me it got me out of a bind twice when i hade a dead battery plus when you turn the switch on and give the jiuice of both batteries when you use the winch you will notive the power.i have takin my stock battery out and i now have a regular sized car battery in it now. so i have when i have it all installed .i have 550ccaamps on the starting battery and 900/1000cca on the extra battery then 21amps on the staock charging stystem output them i have 110 amps output on the toyota alternator output. i run ac invertes in the woods and lights so i need power plus i like my lights to be bright .there is no dimming when the peddle is released.lol

You should be ok, how much does that heater take?

Not sure what the heater draws but will look at papers and see if it mentions that. Might tap where the Deere heater goes instead of where I am now. Got the Deere installation notes now and know where that connector is. Maybe it is fused different.

I don't see that I need a second battery in my situation. Since I have a 40amp alternator if problem persists I might run a new fused feed off battery to a relay and enable that relay from the ign on feed. I can then power the heater from that.
