I should have mentioned that I have contacted them on two occasions-admittedly both via e-mail (no calls). The answer was brief in that there were no considerations to allow Gators on the trail, but no reason as to why. I mentioned that the 4WD Gators essentially were equal in overall design to the Kubota RTV, Kawasaki Mule, and Polaris Ranger that are allowed , essentially the same as my posted message here. Interestingly enough, I found no mention that 2WD Rangers and Mules were not allowed on these trails and there are certain trails where you would not want to be without the added traction of 4WD. And, as mentioned in the rules, the 50-inch rule on the trails does not apply to specific UTVs (such as the RTV, Mule, Ranger, etc). It appears that "educating" them on the specs of the newer Gator models did no good. Maybe there just isn't enough of a push to get the Gators on the trails?

Nah, it has nothing to do with gators, it has to do with the work of inputing something into something and changing something.

It is all about work, and your in the recreation department.

this number

Our rules state that any machine approved for the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System must first be testest by the Chief Ranger and approved for being 'trail worthy' on the Hatfield-McCoy Trails. The John Deere Gator has not yet been tested or approved. If you or anyone else is interested in having a machine tested for approval please contact Steve Simpkins at 304-752-3255 or ssimpkins@trailsheaven.com. Thank you

While you're at it, see if you can get something done here in Wisconsin. They're not allowed anywhere except on your own property. I want to buy one so bad but the wife is balking at the idea if I can't take it on trails.

Just buy more property so you have more room to ride and then she will be happy and you can buy one:)

The Brochure has two paragraphs, in different pages, in it stating about the same thing :

" Open to All Terrain Vehicles less than 50" or less in width EXCEPT Kawasaki Mules, Susuki QUV's, Poloris Rangers, Yamaha Rhino's, and Artic Cat Prowlers "

https://www.trailsheaven.com/shared/content/Page_objects/HMT Online Brochure 07-08.pdf

Never mentioned anything about the Kubota RTV's, John Deere Gators, or several other UTV's on the market ~~~~

By the looks of things, they must want UTV manufacturers to be sponsers before allowed on the paperwork or the trails ?
