Y'all Been Checkin' Lumber Prices?

Man I wish I could get away with using that lumber. Building inspector wouldn’t allow it, it’s a racket.

For comparisons sake, few months ago I bought a bunk of 2x6x16 Doug Fir #2, 189 pieces, $4000

$20 per piece then.
Probably well over $30 now.

Here a 2x8x16 is going for $33 and if it's pressure treated it's $38.

2x4x8 is almost $6.

Note that I said: "There are other options if your building codes allow."

Some counties require graded lumber but in others the blueprint must state: #2 and/or rough sawn lumber. No grade stamp required.

Yes swingblade style
Love it. Very quick. I cut 10 board every 30-45 seconds or less. Very portable, no need for log loader

Swing mills are nice, but they are much more limited on what they will do, compared to a BSM...

I think of them like a skid steer, they work really well for what they do, but not as good all around, as a tractor.
