Yankee's - Red Sox

Re: Yankee\'s - Red Sox

I'm not a baseball fan. My son, who was born in the Boston area and lived there until we took him South at age 1, is a die hard Sox fan. Frankly, I had forgotten there were games being broadcast until I happened to read this thread a couple of minutes ago. I flipped on the game. 8 - 1 Sox 4th inning at 10 PM EDT. My son will be ecstatic. Hope it continues, for his sake.

Like Harve, the sport has to involve wheels for me to show much interest -- I don't much go for stickand ball stuff. I keep waiting for Kasey Kahne to win his first, I like the young'ns, but I wouldn't be unhappy if Little E takes the prize this year, since gentleman Dale J is not in the running.

Don,

It is an interesting thing that most people have great difficulty in becoming deeply involved in a particular team sport unless you are born and breed to it, (so to speak)

I don't understand your game but if there is a team that has black and white colors they have my support, don't like any team with red sox /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I wonder who will step up in the next generation and be the kind of good guy like we've had with Dale, Terry and his brother, Bobby, not to mention Mark. These were guys who'd win if they could. But not wreck someone to do so, class acts.

The first team in all of baseball history to come back from a 0-3 game deficit to force a game 7 and the first team in the history of all professional sports to come back from 0-3 to win!

I am a long, long, long time Red Sox fan and this is a glorious moment for all of us. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Boston Red Sox 10
New York Yankees 3
FINAL

I'd like everyone to bow their heads in a moment of silence for our beloved team. It's a sad day for all of america as the better team lost.

Somehow I think George Steinbrenner will have a 200 million dollar payroll next year. Who needs a luxury tax anyway.

Re: Yankee\'s - Red Sox

None of the previous 25 major league teams to fall behind 3-0 even forced a series to seven games. The wild-card Red Sox became only the third of 239 teams in the four major North American leagues to overcome a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven series and win, joining the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs and the 1975 New York Islanders

I read this on the net this morning. I see they are the third in professional sports to do it. I'm not much of a baseball fan but I was watching this series. You gotta love it!!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
