well started out running rough on start up once running seamed to clear out ....more smoke then normal and less power . Took injectors off for testing and were all leaking so replaced them but didn't cure the problem runs rough in beginning and clears out after a few minutes more black smoke then normal..... and less power .... were to start compression fuel pressure,..... motor has 996 hrs ....omen .... didn't run it log this way hoping i didn't wash a cyl...
could it be something easier... i am missing ???? Randy! not much to these engines 455 john deere any advice !!!!!!

Since you had the injectors out, I would be running a compression test. They should easily come out now and rule that out if it's good. If it's only a 3Dig. Tach and your not the only owner that could be 1996,2996 Etc. Hrs. on it. With it still able to run probably not that bad to take care of the problem. :2cents:

Can we assume you have checked the air filter and bled the fuel lines? You might even remove the exhaust manifold and start it, (you can tell if a cylinder is not firing).

Do we know the injector pump is functioning correctly?

If the compression checks out to be good. And since the Injectors has been replaced or new. Before putting the Inj. back hook it up to the line and look at the spray. A long with the Air cleaner make sure you have good clean fuel. Then check your valves if all is good and you still have a problem.
