Sounds like you are over-analyzing this thing. If this is the splitter in question, (open center), I would just plumb it the way Hoye shows and be done with it.

All good points Winston and it looks like the spool valve is favorite, I'm just so tight I like to think I saved some cash, any idea's as to which manufacturers valves are the most cost effective? Horrendous prices in Europe though I have noted that nearly all the UK ebay sales for hydraulics are from the US with corresponding high freight charges.

Normde2000, Now you have upset me with that link, you guys pay $600 and we pay £504 ($776) I will be crying in my whiskey tonight, and that price is about to go up on the 1st Jan due to VAT (Value Added Tax) rising from 17.5% to 20%, I think Im getting worse as I get older! and the Blo**%&y government is getting richer. (or rather paying for our wonderful Bankers. (did I spell that last word wrong?))
Anyway I have Scottish blood so we do tend to anylize the atomic make-up of the penny and I probably will install as I was first correctly advised at the start of this thread, now where did I put my single malt!
