Yanmar 177

I didn't read this until I was already at home. I'll try to get back to the office tomorrow and post them on our website- or if you can shrink them down you can post them here too. I'm burried with "honey-do's" all day today :) .

Here are 2 of the pictures you sent me. I hope someone can help identify these.

One of my buddies said the oil filter might just be a wire screen type filter. Would that be possible? Meaning that I could drain the oil, remove the filter casing, clean the wire screen, put it back and put new oil in it. If I could replace the whole fuel filter mechanism with something that is more readily available I would do that as well... Thanks again to everyone's help on this (especially Aaron and Buck), I really appreciate it.

Some truck parts houses carry remote oil filter kits. They might be able to find a kit that would allow you to convert your tractor over to a filter head that uses a standard filter. You might have to remove the current filter head and take it to them if you can not determine the correct size of the nipple that filter or in this case the filter can spins up on.

I know they make these kits for 3 & 4 cylinder JD and Cummins engines becuase I have used them before. What you get is an adapter that goes in place of the standard filter then 2 hoses and a remote head that can be monted with 2 bolts. You could possible bolt it to the frame of the tractor next to the oil pan.

Just a thought, but if you a company around you that speicalizes in industrial diesel power units they should be able to help you. These kits are a pretty common item on those units

And here's a workaround for the fuel filter. Put a good filter downstream from that old filter, while you search for the Yanmar element.

I installed this to replace a similar filter I found installed when I bought my Yanmar, and ran it for a month or so until I bought a complete Yanmar fuel filter assembly.

(Off-topic: The photo also shows the throttle linkage adapter used on US-version Yanmars. Pull the lever to slow down.)

Where is the hydraulic filter/screen located? I believe mine is clogged and needs cleaning.

Not sure if it is the same on all models, but on my 1510D the screen is behind a cover with 4 bolts that hold it on and is in the area of my left heel when sitting on the tractor. Here is a picture of it on my tractor.
