yanmar 186d rototiller / blecavator compatability

hi all i have a question was wondering if someone can help, i found this great yanmar tractor and i was wondering if it would team up well with a blecavator bv130 tiller - stone burier atachment- http://www.thelawnmowerman.ie/PDFS/blecavator.pdf now the hp recomended is 20-30 hp and the unit weighs in at 870 lbs - if this combo would work ? it would make me very happy ! but im just not sure if i would be making a big mistake? as its no small some of money for me to spend, im sure you guys understand my situation, as a foot note i have found some conflicting specs on the 3 point lift cap. so any help would be much appreciated

Here is an original brochure shared by Rscotty. According to it the lift won't handle it. Yahoo! Groups Personally, I think you would be running short on horse power too.

thanks for the reply but im having trouble reading the 3 point lift spec - that blecavator bv130 is aprox 4 foot long and weighs in at 870 lbs - dont think it could lift it huh ?

Here is another link for the 186D brochure from International 284...looks like lifting capacity is 661 lbs:

so given that the blecavator is 4 ft long - and the 3 point ataches aprox in the center of the attachment- the 186d is about 200lbs short in lift capacity ? would that be correct ? i dont dispute just trying to understand thanks

Assuming you clicked on the spec page, that will enlarge it some. It states 661 lbs at lower link hitch point and 529 lbs 24" behind. I wouldn't say it wouldn't lift it but I would say I don't think you would be happy with the performance you would be able to get with it. Just my 2 cents. I would say you would be closer to 300lbs under.

so it sounds like even if it could lift it up it might not have the hp to drive it -- as winston thought -am i correct ? also assuming i found a tractor this size and weight (kubota b) with more capacity would i need alot of front balllast to lift that bad boy ? thanks for all your help !

No, it won't work.

You don't have the hp or the lifting capacity.

My YM186D struggles with a Yanmar tiller that was intended for a YM2000. That tiller expects 20 hp, while the YM186D has 15 pto hp output. This combination stalls whenever it unexpectedly digs full depth.

These are great LITTLE tractors. They won't drive an implement rated to need more horsepower.

And as Winston said, YM186D is far short of the lifting capacity that implement requires.

ok thanks yea the d186 is a no go with the bv130 thanks for your help -
when the hp specs for an attachment are typicaly given is that engine hp ? or pto hp ?
the other question i have is if i find a tractor with stronger hp and 3 point lift but same dimentions will the front end be to light even with ballast ?

There are two types of Yanmar model numbers (for argument sake here) the YMXXX (3 digits) are domestic models and made for the US market. They list HP at the engine. The YMXXXX (4 digits) were made for the Japanese markets and were later shipped to the US. The HP ratings are at the PTO. So for example, my YM2020D is Japanese marketed tractor rated at 20 HP at the PTO and roughly (20hp X 1.2) 24HP at the engine. The YM186D would be 18 hp at the engine at ~15 HP at the PTO.
