yanmar 186d rototiller / blecavator compatability

Recommended horsepower given for a turning implement is pto horsepower in most cases. I think the safe way would be to contact the manufacturer if their specs are not plain.

I do believe that pulled, not pto powered implements are rated at engine or pulling horsepower.

ok thanks for the help !
my next question is in your experiance would a tractor the same size and weight but more hp and 3 point lift be ok with a blecavator bv130 tiller (being 870 lbs and 4 ft long) or would i see nothing but sky even with front ballast ?

I think this is a trick question. :D However, I would think to get a tractor with the lift and pto horsepower required you would end up with a heavier and larger tractor.

the more modern tractors have much more hp and lift capacity in a similar size tractor so i know it sounds trick but its based on the reality of the more modern design

I'll never spend the money for a new-model tractor. But what is out there in current models, with size similar to YM186D and substantially greater hp/lift?

How much does it cost?

may have 0 percent finance not sure
kubota b2620 msrp
$14,648.00
26hp
3 point lift cap 1350lbs
weight 1450
45" wide
95"long
so you see about the same size as the yanmar but more capacity - you think this would be ok for that blecavator bv130 ? or to light in the front ?

fxdp, you keep asking about the machine being too light up front. I really don't think that should be your major concern. Having a loader on the front should alleviate any of those problems, and the tractors are designed to be mounted with sufficient ballast up front to safely handle their intended loads on the hitch. That B2620 is rated at 19 PTO power, and looks to have just enough lift capacity to use the Blecavator. If you're going to invest that kind of money into such an expensive and specialized implement, I would assume that you have a specific task for it to do and will do it quite a bit. I don't think you will be much ahead to attempt running it with the minimal machine possible. The manufacturer recommends 20-30 horsepower, so I think you ought to be shooting for something closer to the middle of that range as a minimum.

In the older Kubota market, I'd look for something like an L245 as the minimum. You can put enough ballast on the front if it is not equipped with a loader. It will handle the implement safely, and not be overstressed.

Echoing 284, I don't think that particular Kubota is big enough.

While Kubota publishes 1350 lbs lift capacity, they also show this is reduced to a little over 1000 lbs lift capacity measured 24" back from the pins. That Blecavator weighs 870 lbs and much of the 870 lbs is the roller mounted way back, more than 4 ft behind the lift pins. Add the cast iron ring roller option shown in their photo and the seeder option to make the complete package ... its not going to work.

The Blecavator is a counter-rotating tiller. And it needs to dig full depth if it is going to bury stones and debris on the bottom. So the tiller isn't helping the tractor move forward like a rice tiller does, it is fighting the tractor's tractive force every inch of the way. I think their 20 hp minimum isn't realistic for the real-world variety of conditions. Maybe for a vineyard cultivated frequently, but no way is 20 hp going to till and move that thing forward if you ever take it to previously untilled ground.
