I think you could probably find a replacement engine cheaper than just the head. I always recommend TBN member "Bruce1966us" . Bruce Laten is located in Lynchburg TN and I have always felt his engine and shipping prices to be the best around. His number is 931-492-0316. He carries a variety of different brands of low hour Japanese diesel engines and almost always has a lot of Yanmars and Kubotas in stock. Tractor Ernie in Oregon might be the 'left coast' (his term) dealer you mentioned. I thought I read that he is in Florida now.

So far as I know that leaves Coldwater (no website) near Seattle as the only place selling original-condition Yanmar imports to the west of Fredricks' market area.

Yep Ernie was who i was thinking of.

It seems as though the Yanmars hayday of mass imports is over. small dealers have been dropping like flies the last 4-5 years. Or at least the era of in it to make a quick buck as your specialty is over due to many economic reasons.
