Ok, so today I got new tires of my rig for summer fun. I noticed that I have oil leaking out of the end of my left rear axle towards the rim end.

Is this considered a brake seal or axle shaft seal?

How hard is this to replace. Any special tools needed? You can see some oil on the brand new tire. I did not even run it since the tire was installed.

That looks to be the axle seal leaking. This would be what you probably need. REAR AXLE: Yanmar Tractor Parts

In order to pull the axle you have to access the bull gear and remove 3 retainer bolts to allow the axle to slide out.

Winston, thanks but whats the bull gear? Is this an easy job? and the fluid leaking would be my trans/ hydraulic fluid correct? Because mine is not low at this time so maybe this is kinda new.

Found this on Hoye----please tell me I dont have to disassemble this much of the tractor to replace this seal Yanmar Rear Axle Seal Replacement

Yea I think your tractor you have to either pull the axle or some other stuff. They got it right on the 2000 but I know some of those smaller sizes you had to pull axles or gears apart and press bearing off.

I will look at the link to see how it goes togeather.

Looking again you have a 2210. I bet yours is like the 2000. It looks like it. And no the "girl and her tractor" dissemble your linking to is a different family of tractors. I bet you don't have to do that much. It looks like all you do is like the 2000.

If it's like my 2000. You take the tire off, then the big center nut that holds the hub on then get a big puller to pull the hub off axle stub. Then pull that seal holder off, the plate with 4 bolts then the seal is in the housing. Replace the seal and I would put a new cola on the axle as well.

Search my posts for pictures and a more complete write up of the job. I will link in a bit to my job on the ym2000

Collar on the axle not colar. I'm on my phone, it won't let me edit, if I try it will just delete my post.

Agreed, axle seal. Unfortunately it's gonna be a pain to change. I have a 2210d and mine isn't leaking, but I've checked into this a while ago just preparing myself if or when I have to change mine out. Good luck.

It doesn't look like a bad job, just many steps and tedious because of it. Multiple surfaces to prep and seal as well.

And I hate for you that I am wrong looking at it!!!
