This thread will has a picture of the 2210 axle assembly. Bull gear is on end of axle shaft. The wheel hub is part of the axle shaft, therefore the axle has to be pulled to change the seal. Wish I had better news. :(

So then I DO have to do the whole removal like in the "girl and her tractor" video??

if thats the case I will watch it and add fluid for now. Im getting ready to pour concrete and build our 2,000 ft home. Zero time for taking a tractor apart. Especially since Im in the beginning stages of fixing a mile of fence the monster year of snow destroyed and have to get that dont to keep cows on/ off the property.

I was hoping clemsonfor was right. Just my luck.

Thx RUMBLON

I have been know to try stupid things from time to time. Having said that if it were mine I would try removing the axle without removing the axle housing. If it didn't work then I would remove the housing. You will have likely have to remove the pto unit and probably the hydraulic unit. Not a simple seal change however you go about it. I want to think I remember the "girlandhertractor" said on a post somewhere that the axle would come out without removing the housing. Here is her thread if you want to read through it. Winston, yea thats the one I read. I drove this today and brought into the shop and placed an aluminum tray under it. No fluids at all coming out now and the level is fine. So if its leaking, which it is, then its very slow and intermittent.
Do these give out normally or does something typically cause it. I pushed a LOT of snow this year here and it really isnt cut out for it. Once I get my house built and save some money I really need a backhoe for 175 acres.

Don't know I have a good answer for you. I know I have read of quite a few axle seal replacements. What causes the leaks I know not. Don't know that I have read of the axle bearings going bad, at least not in the threads I can remember the seal changes being done. If you can live with the leak you should probably just truck on.

Perfectly fine to put your repair off till wile or some slower time. Your not leaking enough to matter. Sometimes they leak and sometimes not. I will tell you your seal is at the end of its life and the collar may be pitted as well.

There is by a small chance that a piece of like a grassy stem worked it's way under the lip and allowed a small amout of fluid to leak until it was sawn in half or it pulled back out and maybe did not do any damage. Like when grass wraps it self up on your axle or a shaft, but this is a very Unlikely scenario. And probably the more realistic answer is that it's just a worn out seal on a 25 year old tractor.
