Yanmar 2500 starter solenoid

If I'm not mistaken, when you jump the post on the solenoid you are taking the ignition switch and clutch safety switch out of the circuit.

With the key turned on and the clutch safety switch engaged. If I jump the solenoid posts, and the tractor cranks, wouldn' that tell me that the clutch safety switch is good? Otherwise it would not crank, it wouldn't turn over or nothing. Do yall agree with that? Thanks again

No, when you jump at the starter solenoid you are bypassing the ignition switch and the clutch safety switch, and for that matter all other safety switches that might exist (PTO switch, neutral switch).

When you jump the solenoid at the starter all you prove is that the battery, solenoid and the starter are good. You prove nothing regarding the switches that might be in line.

I would start by trying to jump across the switches; first bypass the safety switch and then try the ignition switch. Your problem is probably in one of them or in the cables that connect them.

Does this model have a electrical fuel shut-off? Seem to remember Ernie posting something, maybe on another site about fuel sel getting stuck sometimes.

Good evening Mickey Fx; My 2500 doesen't have a electric fuel shut off. I haven't been able to get back up to my place as planned yet. My youngest daughter is due any day now. The doctors plan to induce labor on monday if she doesn't deliver before then. There are no foreseen medical problems, just time for SARA ALANNA to make her entrance.
