start with the above fixes. it could simply be the O ring on top of the bowl. but either way all those parts should be change every so often. especialy if you're in a warm climate.. if problem still persist replace line from fuel filter/bowl to injection pump.

also are you sure the fuel shut off is coming on all the way? and staying on.

Other than the o-ring for the fuel bowl, there are 2 o-rings for those shutoff levers. IF by chance the filter assembly is weeping fuel, it could also be one of those.

Diesel will weep out slowly typically, gasoline on the other had is like Niagara Falls.

JimRB reminded me of just how dirty my fuel tank and line was. I replace all my lines to the Inj. pump after I seen the Blk. dirt come out of the line, Between the Tank and Fuel bowl. NAPA. fuel filter's are cheap. YM2000 #3262 I change them Reg. like a Air ftlter after coming across the mess I had. I use fuel from the pump and fuel problems have been pretty much non existent. Have off Rd. diesel closest station to me and don't care for it. I have a phobia ever since. Not being able to see the "red" filter from the "red" Dye in the Diesel fuel. If I was running 50+ gal a month etc. BTDT sure but not for the few Gal. I use compared to it.

Same here, I'm not a fan of dyed red diesel either. How much do those stations actually sell to keep it FRESH? Maybe 2 years ??? Just going to a known truck stop, the diesel will be as FRESH as you can get and the holding tanks are constantly being worked. Thus, no old fuel to be gotten.

Yes, your phobia is spot on. Good for you. :)

Because we fill the tank at the top of the machine, I have a spout basin with a sieve screen. When I did do the off-road red dye, I'd notice a darker like black substance on the screen. Not so with the truck stop diesel for interstate use.

Our machines sip fuel all to well. Paying the extra 10 cents is fine by me. In some cases off road costs MORE around here. Wild eh?

I've used Seafoam to clean out the fuel system. It's my go-to.

Tank you for your help! The fuel bowl had a very small pinhole leak at the bottom. it must have sucked air into the fuel line.

Congratulations on getting it fixed!

I think air leaks on diesel fuel lines cause a significant number of engine issues. Rather like the "is it plugged in?" for electric items.
