Yanmar Clutch

I would be looking hard at the hydraulic fluid Esp. the bottom of the Hyd. oil pan for clutch Debris. If the screen did get plugged up your most likely going to see clutch pad wear. Signs of metal would be bad news! The Internal pump supplies oil to the clutch pack to prevent wear and the Pads from slipping. 225PSI would sound about right. New Fluid and Filter also If it was mine. Esp if you show a dirty pan or fluid problem.

The PowerShift clutch packs do not require high pressure like the loader does.
They only need about 225 psi. And revving the engine really does not effect it. It puts out that much pressure at an idle.
The pump for the clutch packs is separate from the pump for the rest of the hydraulics. The pressure for the clutch packs is controlled by the springs Winston mentioned, which are in the Regulator Case on top of the transmission, under a sheet metal guard.
The springs are nos. 40 and 47 in the pic. Sometimes they just get weak and sometimes they break, but replace them both.
No. 51 is a filter screen which the early models had but later ones do not, if yours has one clean it and re-use it.
Thank you. I will check out the regulator case , actually replaced it with one before having the clutch put in and have the old one somewhere. It wasn’t bad so fingers crossed. Thanks again for the info. Jay

Not sure you are talking about the power shift clutch packs or the mechanical clutch. $6000 for either seems ridiculous. "If" you are talking about power shift problems I would first look at your relief valve springs in the regulator case. Do you have a parts manual and any kind of service manual? The parts manual is available on line and a 276 service manual is available on line which has trouble shooting section that would likely work for your 336.
Yeah. Brim tractor in Washington state 6000. Mechanical clutch Got me pretty hard right? Anyway , do have a manual and had purchased a used regulator case from Hoye before having the clutch replaced. I will check those springs! Thank you. Jay

Yessir did the hydraulic fluid and filters. No improvement. It looked pretty clean I will be checking the regulator case springs and pressure. Fingers crossed. Thank you. Jay
