Dealer YANMAR DEALER IN SOUTH CAROLINA

Again I don't know why he states the years the way he does, but I would still consider buying another tractor from him.

So he can scam someone that don't know any better.

I'am in the a/c business . Would it be right if I took an 2000 year mod. a/c unit put a good paint job on it and sell it as a 2007,etc, mod. to someone that didn't know any better and install it in their home when the customer has put their trust in me to do the right thing and sell them a 2007 mod. a/c unit ? I wouldn't do this for any amount of money !! He is ripping people off, selling these units stating that they are newer than they are

I see your point. All I know is he didn't mis-represent the age of the F235 I bought, he told me it was a late 80's model.

I can't defend him on the stated ages he's posted, since we all know the YMs are much earlier models. He's hurting his business by posting those dates and you're right that an unsuspecting buyer can be scammed if he bases his decision on the dates posted.

I guess it's "buyer beware" and warn people to know what they're buying before putting their money down.

I will check out the dealer that was mentioned in Travelers Rest, SC about 30 miles from me) and I appreciate the posters who recommended him.

Well guys, after much searching for a tractor, I finally found one. I really tried to find a yanmar around here, but the only place i found with some only had a 22 hp model. So when my buddy called about a jd that got traded in , I went for it. Thaks to all for your feedback. Ill be checking this forum out all the time because there is a lot of usefull info and all you guys seem to be real friendly. Be sure to come by the jd forum from time to time too.

This is my first post to TBN; I've been researching for my first tractor. I think we've settled on a Yanmar. We just built a house on a small undeveloped 2 acre lot in Lugoff, SC and are preparing to pickup another 4 acres. I am looking to pickup a Yanmar with a FEL and a number of implements in order to further develop the property and do some small scale hobby farming with the family. Within TBN, everyone has seemed very helpful with sharing their thoughts/feedback - especially with the Yanmar Dealer question in SC. Thanks!

I've started flagging Craigslist posts that are blatant. '2007 model YM1500, 29 horsepower' was the most recent. If everybody did this maybe we could beat those sellers into posting truthful ads.

101, welcome! I don't know the answer (I'm 3,000 miles West of there) but a tractor that came through Fredricks would be my first choice. Either recently or a while back, and either from Fredricks directly or from one of his re-sellers.

101 if your going to buy new, drive to Spalding tractors outside ATL. Only dealers here in the state sell recons. Not that a recon can be a bad tractor, i have one myself as many do here. But now that i have learned the money is not any different. Steve at spalding is the same price as i paid for a recon and he gives a yr parts and labor warrenty as opposed to 90 days. But if you wanna buy used most times if you know what to look for in used equiptment you will find a good deal at a several thousand $$ discount.

So you know the guy down there in darlington (think we covered this so far in this thread) sells recons from vn, but will have a fredericks or original yanmar every now n then too. He also will have 8ns and JDs

I just ordered a YM2210 from Fredrick's in AL. Shipping all the way to Ohio is painful.

You might check with Spalding Tractors in GA. I believe he gets his tractors from Fredrick's.

When I bought my 2020 I bought it from a dealer in WI and I live in NC The dealer used a trucker that hauls heavy freight. I got it delivered for $600 which to me is not a lot considering the distance. The driver is an independant that drives all over the country. If anyone is interested PM me and I will look up his number.

 Have to agree on Spalding Tractor. I would give Steve a call.

Spalding will do you good no doubt. You probly wont have a warrenty problem and if you do its most likely minor, say voltage regulator going out or something. Steve will ship you the part but if you cant work on stuff that does not help that much. Sometimes in cases like yours i would suggest to either buy something new local or get a used yanmar. Cause unless its a total failure its not likely your gonna haul it back to ATL!! But again nothing is problgoing to happen and its insurance
