Yanmar Deere?

I was driving dow the road and saw what I thought was a Yanmar painted JD green. It also had John Deere on the tractor. I could not see the model number. It was not a lime green Yannie. Does anyone know if JD ever just sold Yannies and put Deere paint and decals on them. I swear you could paint it red and it would have been a Yannie...

More than likely it was an owner that painted it green and put the stickers on it. One of the fellows from this site painted a Yanmar green and I'll have to say it came out nice.

Anywho...the JD790 and JD990 are completly made over seas and what I would call a Yanmar painted green with JD stickers on it and sold over here.

Also notice his parts stock. That may be the only known source of parts for the Kukje tractors labelled as Yanmars - F175, F395, F455 etc.

He sells those models and his website notes a "Part dept. to ensure the customer with complete part support to keep your tractor in tip top running condition."

That guy definitely looks shady. There is a guy in town here that imports grey market Kubotas by the container load and sell them. He claims he reconditions them. However, I looked at his shop and I have my doubts about that.

There was a guy on ebay about a month ago that had a Yanmar painted green and yellow with Deere decals on it. John Deere has never sold a Deere that looked just like a red Yanmar. Like one of the other posters mentioned, the 790 and 990 are bumper to bumper Yanmars, but Yanmar has never sold one of those painted red.

The F175 & F395 are Japanese model Yanmars.

I'm not sure Handler's still paints them green. I had heard a couple years ago that JD may have sued them. The website has a 2002 copywrite.

Painting a Yanmar green is insulting... Its like painting a Mitsubishi with Cub Cadet or Case colors... None of us over paid for our tractors... . Definitely looks shady...
