Yanmar engine cost?

I'm kicking around a project idea that would require a engine. I was toying with the idea of using a Yanmar diesel for the project. What would one of these engines cost me? I would be needing a complete engine, radiator, throttle, decompression lever, electronics, etc. I'd be looking for something around 20 crank hp. Would I be better off buying a whole tractor?

There is a YM2000 on ebay right now with a blown headgasket that would work. The tractor looks too nice to part out though. If I bought this tractor for it's engine, can I sell the remaining parts on ebay?

If you part out the 2000 listed on ebay, why wouldn't you be able to part it out on ebay? I don't see any problem with that, might take awhile, but doesn't seem like an issue with doing such a thing...

speaking of ebay, i've ocassionally seen 2 and 1 cyl yanmars for sale there. Also, you might check craigslist.com, i've seen them listed there too... lastly, if you are anywhere near a marina, check with shops around there, i see engines and stuff like that for sale a lot in my area (but, i live near a lot of fishing/sailing communities too).

We are parting out another low hour YM1510D with a bad body. I can make you a deal on the engine, radiator, etc- all still bolted to the frame. Email me for a price if you are interested. We also have 6 or so industrial engines that we are getting ready to put on Ebay. They are a little bigger though.

You can buy complete new diesel engines from Northern Tool. They are not yanmars. I think they are isuzu (spelling). I do not know if they have decomprssion levers or not.....They are not cheap but you could compare.....
