Yanmar engine cost?

There's a tiny little B&W pic of a YM13A there, but the picture I found was a high-res color photo of a machine in fair condition sitting in an asphalt parking lot somewheres. Pretty sure this particular tractor was at least a few years newer than the 1961 YM13A too.

I happened by chance, over this thread. I'm looking to have my Yanmar 2TR13-A engine rebuilt or replaced. It's the 15.5 hp twin diesel in the yanmar ym 155, same engine as the 1300 yanmar. Who's reputable for rebuild or just replacement ? I live near Sacramento, Ca.. Thanks in advance, a fellow Yanmar Lover... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Dave's near Red Bluff is/was a frequent poster in this Yanmar forum and is the person I would trust to get it right.

West-Cal Deere dealer in Santa Rosa was a Yanmar dealer (along with Deere) when Yanmar franchised dealers here in the 80's. They said they still have the shop and labor manuals, and contacts with Yanmar USA to get parts, and would work on my Yanmar which is a US version like yours. I got the feeling they would be expensive. They made a big point of never touching a gray market Yanmar however. Claimed they were totally different and they had gotten burned on parts that wouldn't fit, too many times.

There are probably other Deere dealers with similar historic ties to Yanmar in Northern California as well.

Those are the only two leads I have nearby. Surely there are more Yanmar specialists around as well.

I'm guessing the shipping on an engine is pretty costly. What area do you live in? Maybe someone on here can suggest something local that you could look at and pick up in person? I'm thinking anyone who is selling grays might have engines or might be able to get one for a reasonable price.

This guy is an Allied tractor dealer but he also imports grays. He is in the Cleveland OH area.

I think this is mistaken. I am pretty certain he is in Strongsville, and buys his tractors from Bob in N. Royalton. I do know that the site referenced is consistently off base on HP listings for engines, overstating most of the grey Yanmars by 10% and more.

That is Bob in North Royalton. It is a Cleveland suburb. I don't know anything about his engines but I knew he sold them because my neighbor has been looking for one.

Thank You Everybody for your input and suggestions, I sincerely mean that. I'll check with Dave's in Red Bluff, Ca.
