Yanmar Ex3200 and Mid PTO?

Well, I messed up my PTO shaft. Cut it way to short. Ruined it for any use. My mower is a Woods RM360. I've asked on another part of the forum, about replacing the shaft with another brand. The Woods mower has a keyway, instead of a hole with a shear bolt. If I were to get another brand shaft, could I drill a hole in the Woods shaft, to attach it?
