Wow! Heat and A/C That asking price it wouldn't last a day on CL. here in Ga. Wonder what he's asking for the FEL?

Outside of the fact that it would cost me a grand in fuel to drive the truck and trailer down to what I assume the Fresno area, I am still interested. 1 1/2 days down, 1 1/5 back. 2-3 nights in motels and jug or two in oil ( old truck). Looks like a nice tractor. I wonder if I could just fly down, and put a SMV triangle on the back and drive it up I-5 on the way home. Might save me a ton of money on gas, and I think the diesel driving it back would be a lot cheaper. Wonder what the top speed is.

Apple Valley is another 250-odd miles south of Fresno. I've seen this tractor, I think, driving through the area on a dual sport motorcycle. It's not THAT big, apart from a massive and roomy cab. I'm intrigued by the air conditioning, but could never make it work on my property. It's a nice looking unit though.

It's 17 hours from Apple Valley to Yakima, WA pulling a heavily loaded car trailer with a pickup, as a frame of reference. :D I would NOT want to go through the Shasta area, but otherwise, I really think you would be ok driving the tractor up there. I expect it would run 20 to 25 mph. I am totally in favor of YOU doing it...

Were these tractors (cab tractors like the one in the ad) used for the same thing as most of the other little tractors in Japan - tilling and rice farming? Are there some "larger" rice farms that require bigger tractors and the owners/operators want the amenity of a cab?

Looks like a sweet tractor (no offense to Ken Sweet intended) - I had asked years ago about larger Yanmars and got the response from some of the importers at the time that most of the larger tractors were used in dairies and were pretty worn out by the time they made it to the grey market. They also cautioned that the front axles on the larger Yanmars were suspect (that was on the larger YM series). Anybody have any details on the larger F-series like this one. I would love to get a big brother for our F16D.

This does seem to be a good price, enclosed cab with A/C:thumbsup: just the other day I was watching the county maintenance crew come by cutting/mowing the sides of the roadways, two young men in 2 nice tractors hard at work in an Enclosed cab with A/C kicken;) ... and at my age up on a hot roof installing 26 square of shingles praying for a cloud to hover over and day dreaming of swapping places with them :D

It's back!

Now $4k cheaper.

TRACTOR, AG. YANMAR F475 - $5000 (VICTORVILLE, HIGH DESERT)

However ... why does this listing appear only in the Mendocino Craigslist and nowhere else that I can see, looking at all of California north of Los Angeles ??? Mendocino County is at the diagonal opposite corner of California - 700 hard miles Northwest of Victorville.

Strange.

284, do you see this listed local to you down there?

That price almost looks scamish. That is a lot of tractor.

It IS listed down here: TRACTOR, AG, YANMAR F475

The guy posting it has several other compacts and associated listings; I've spoken with him on the phone before. I wish I had the disposable income to afford a $5000 toy. It is a great price for something with those capabilities. Having said that, can you imagine the nightmare of trying to repair/service the electrical system on it, or the air conditioning? (A necessity with the massive greenhouse of a cab)
