Yanmar in a Blizzard!!!

Hi there,
As some of you may remember, I've had some trouble with cold starts... Got that sorted out, for the most part, still a little tough, but I'm up and running.

Last weekend we had a nor'easter/blizzard- good storm, had to clear snow only twice. With that said, in 4x4, I was able to push 2.5 feet of snow (deep) for about 150' no problem. Here are some pictures of my 1601d in the thick of it!! Enjoy... -arthr

I am a couple hours northwest of you and I am happy to say that we did not get as much snow as you did. The FEL is a great way to make nice high snow banks or to shuttle snow with.

My wife asked if I could keep from piling snow on the lawn. I told her I could move it to the feild side of the driveway but it would take a little longer. Actually it translated into more fun in the tractor seat.

I have a rear blade which I use to pull or push snow then push it up with the FEL. Two and a half feet of snow is a lot of snow.

I've spent about 5-6 hours pushing and plowing snow over the last three days. As much fun as it is, I think I've had enough for now... Well, maybe some more this weekend would be alright!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Growing up lots of snow....no tractor. Then I move here in '93.
Now lots of tractors....no snow.

Well sir, I'll trade you a truck load of snow for a tractor! ;-) Honestly, I've found that moving snow is more fun than dirt... it seems to go a lot faster and take less effort... I noticed that one of the above pictures didn't load, here's another try...

Arthur Your 1610-D clearing snow at night is just wonderful.
It looks like you had a blast /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif doing this, snow is a lot lighter than soil is therefore it goes faster ! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I keep telling folks that a 1610 will move snow & you are proof of that.

I bought one of those $100.00 blades from the travel tool dudes for my 2210. I have the same loader as you have. we got snow last year.(8"-9') I had a blast also..... I did the neihbors too.... This year we had one small snow(we also had ice) my wife accused me of rushing out to blade it before it melted /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif...She was right....
