yanmar manuals just purchased off ebay

Since this is a free educational site, I would think that under "Fair Use" it would be okay to create a repository of scanned repair manuals. This site is so huge, and with right to repair becoming a thing, manufactures probably would want to give permissions.

manual, a repair manual and a parts list!

Anyone who owns a tractor should
have a parts list for their tractor so
if someone tells them about a part
they can find it. Also a parts list has
part numbers so if need be you can
order or find the part you need.

The copyright laws of Japan are different than the USA up to the mid 2000s. If something went out of physical print, there is a Japan clause of being; single use, library reference, single download only and being free at no charge. The Yanmar Tractor Owners Groups follows this protocol.

eBay copy-of-a-copy-of-a-copy, etc is not a legal way of doing this. A scanned original out-of-print manual for free, single download, as reference material, is the way to go.

The right-to-repair laws are in the works. Its not a finished deal just yet. And the owners of the documents can still retail sale the manuals like before at the prices they so choose. Its not a free-for-all. Its making the information available at a price vs. not making the information available at all.

Even with copy rights, when a manufacture posts the manuals on the web for free access, they still own the copy right to the work. One can not slap their logo or business name, phone and address to them without prior consent or prior license to do so. Now, a cover page before the manual in its entirety is possible. The cover page would have to fall under the fair use and/or common rights clauses with the disclaimer.
