Yanmar 195D
Just purchased a 1979 195D last month. I was told it was a 79, but I have no idea how to verify that and really it doesn't matter to me what year it is. It is in really good shape if it is in fact that old. I do however at some point want to repaint it. Does anyone know where or have a number code to match the "lime green" paint on it? I've already visited Hoyetractor, they are out of stock on the paint. I'm wanting the hood and fender paint, not the frame. I understand this is a "grey" market tractor, whatever that means? I'm happy with it, and the price I paid, I think it was well worth it. It seems to be a little work horse for no bigger than it is. Also any you guys know where I might luck onto any attachments for it? I was wondering about a front loader, it came with a 60" finish mower. Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard - you will love your tractor. That is not a grey market tractor - yours was sold by Yanmar US for the USA market - You can tell by the three digit numbers. Gray markets usually are four - like my YM2020D. The D stand for 4wd. Attachments - any dealer can get you what you want in the form of attachments and better yet is craigslist. A great website is Anything attachments to get smart on attachments. I am pretty sure Koyker builds a FEL for your tractor and Coldwater (a sponsor on this site) also makes one or can. No idea where to get the paint except ask your local yanmar dealer - since yours is a domestic model you will have access to that dealer network.

Here is an article on what a gray market tractor is in case you want to know: Part 1 - What is Zen Noh - ZEN-NOH and Kubota Part 1: A Partnership | OrangeTractorTalks

Also here is a cut and paste from a file I keep on the tractor specs - it doesn't paste very well - but you can see that it was made between 78-80.

Welcome!

Here's the original showroom brochure for your YM195D.

And I think you have the final year version, 1981, because your external air cleaner was only used on the final update.

Paint it??? That's the cleanest one I've seen. Most US Yanmars look more like my sig, below. I tried to get a VN refurb shop to go over my YM240 and they told me it was too rough, they wouldn't do it. It runs like new so I guess that's all that matters.

Gee they're not wrong when they say a 1500 and the 195 are close cousins. i don't think i have really looked closely at a 195 until now.
