The FE35 ground speed may be a problem. These tillers like slow ground speed.

Yes, I would agree. Both the Yanmars and John Deere's have lower speeds and creeper gears too.

I will try it and see how it goes. If it is not suitable then I will move it on

While my tiller is not a yanmar tiller (hard to find in my area anyway. They couple I found were with a tractor, not yanmars but they did not want to sell separately). So I bought one from a local guy (then it had to shipped, what he had was already sold but had not been picked up. )I did get a slight price break by doing my own setup (install a few bolts for upper link connection and gear oil for gear box and tiller drive.
Long story, but from my tiller, a few others I tried out (very briefly) and a friends that convinced me I wanted a tiller on my tractor, tillers in general prefer (or at least perform better) at slower speeds.
I am not familiar with the FE35, but the slowest gear you have is what I would use, expect multiple passed from different directions if ground had not been tilled fairly recently.

To give some comparison info. My yanmar’s range 1 1st gear is rated at 0.6 mph. This would be my gear/range selection choice for untilled ground compared to the FE35’s 1.2 mph
If you ground has been tilled previously (previous growing season) I think you will have very good results with your tractor and tiller combo.
If you are tilling ground that has not been tilled in several years (2+) you will be frustrated with 1st pass results. Be patient, make multiple passes if possible at 90 degrees to the last pass. Allow some time for the ground to dry if damp between passes. When you go back to same directional passes, try to till 180 degrees from 1st pass.
If a heavy clay soil, have a soil sample test performed (our local extension office does this at minimum cost) and add products as recommended. Gypsum is good in clays to loosen the clay. Fertilizer companies will fo soil test typically and usually free, but expect to sell you product. (Reasonable expectation in my opinion).
If you can not get acceptable results with this tiller, you probably want to consider a counter rotating tiller (pricy however).

The black box on top of the tiller is an automatic leveler, you plug it in the back of the tractor and it will keep the tilling depth level.
Your tractor has to have the plug in the back and a hydraulic cylinder on the 3 point for it to work.
Its called a UFO.

And the million dollar question is, what does UFO mean? What is the acronym describing????

Yanmar makes sooooo many different tiller models. It would make your head spin.

I still don't understand why there are RS1200, and a RS1201 or a RS1202 or a RS1203 or a RS1204. What does the last number mean in all this???

And here we are talking about an RSB1501. What does the -01 mean vs. a RSB1500 ???

Is there a cheat sheet out there or a Yanmar model definition for tiller models one can glean from ???

Vizslaman,

I did not forget about you sir.

I've combed so many places looking for the tiller info. I was able to find a RSB1504 manual. The -01 still alludes me.

See attached.
