Yanmar SA324 MMM Question

I am very interested in buying a Yanmar SA324. I talked with a dealer in my area, and I had asked about a drive over mid mount mower. He said Yanmar does not offer it. I looked on Yanmar's site,

and under the SA series tractor

it lists a

60-inch, mid-mount, drive-over mower

Can anyone verify the 60" deck is drive over?

My 60" Yanmar MMM is definitely a "drive over".

The mower deck model M60SA that came with my SA424 last year has nothing in the manual about being drive over. There are instructions for rotating the rear wheels of the deck by 90 degrees and rolling it in or out from between the wheels. I don't believe that the polyethylene covers over the outboard pulleys would provide much protection for the spindles from the front tires.

I think that there would need to be some substantial changes needed to make the mower deck model M60SA into a drive-over deck.

This was also a sales question for me as well, but I decided to go ahead with it. As it turns out, the deck is easily locked up out of the way under the belly and you retain full usage of the 3PH and PTO. Maybe the extra height form the bigger wheels on the 424 provides an unexpected bonus in this regard. I've rototilled my garden plot without even removing the mower - no issues.

So, it sounds like maybe Yanmar started selling these with a non drive over deck and the later updated the deck to a drive over. I will probably end up emailing Yanmar and find out if this is the case, and if so, what year/month that was done.

Yanmar is going to retrofit the 60" mid mount mower that is drive over off of the YT235 for the 324/424. I have yet to see it but I can say the YT235 deck is a heavy fabricated deck that has drive over capability.

I just got a response back from Yanmar from another local dealer. charles d stahl sales and service, has informed me that a drive over mid mount mower is available for the SA324 and SA424 but not the SA221 at this time. he said that "they are just starting to be shipped to dealers so that's why you probably didn't see one on the floor".

So for anyone interested, yes a fabricated drive over MMM deck is available.

Yanmar seems to be updating attachments and the spec books/dealer knowledge is lagging behind. I ordered an SA424 TLB and it arrived with a different backhoe from the one on the dealer lot--it had a BETTER backhoe! They were previously sourcing the backhoe from Ameriquip, just like the John Deere compacts. Yanmar switched to Woods Equipment, and the bucket cylinder force went from 2000 pounds to 2800, but I don't think it was updated on the website. They might still be flushing out the Ameriquip stock.

424 TLB, with a backhoe thumb, work lights, and 12v outlet as options came to $25,536. Yanmar gave me zero interest financing which I was pretty happy about.

Google "team tractor and equipment" in Phoenix AZ. I almost traded my LS mt125 on a new 424 TLB. Their sale price is 19,950 after a $2000 rebate OR $21,950 --- 0% for 84 months, delivered to me (350 miles). I would have done the deal, but I'm still about $1300 upside down on the LS trade in.

Google "team tractor and equipment" in Phoenix AZ. I almost traded my LS mt125 on a new 424 TLB. Their sale price is 19,950 after a $2000 rebate OR $21,950 --- 0% for 84 months, delivered to me (350 miles). I would have done the deal, but I'm still about $1300 upside down on the LS trade in.

Just noticed that the 0% went away, they had told me it was until April 30th...go figure

I recall the dealer saying that Yanmar rotates the financing deals, meaning the zero interest deal comes and goes. However, I'd think any good dealership you talk to would know what options are available, and wouldn't tell you to figure it out on your own with DLL. I've had no direct dealings with DLL, save for paying them every month.

Probably too late but I have a brand new 60" mid mount mower I purchased with my SA424 and never used it. Its for sale in NE Ohio if interested. Cheap.

We used DLL also made about 10 months of payments with zero percent. Never had any trouble with the financing what's so ever, but, I only had it for 10 months, maybe longer would have been different if I went the whole 5 years.
