Yanmar sales

My friend and are thinking of sellingYanmars. This will not be a front yard operation. He has an ornametal welding business . The business has a large shop and paint room. I am nearing retirement as a college professor. He and I have farm and equipment experience. My folks sold Oliver equipment. We are only interested in the Ym three cylinder tractors primarily the 1401, 1410,1501 and 1510. WE are interested in a container. I need information concerning contacts etc. We are located in the Western part of Tennessee. The only Yarmars sold around here are front yard sales. We would like to service them too. Any help would be appreciated.

I can supply you with a container of high quality tractors. Although you can't always get exactly what you want. I'm also a Yanmar dealer and have manuals & parts books available for many models of Yanmars. sheaftractor@coiinc.com

Reggie Ferguson is an importer in Emporia VA. He also can order containers for you and help you get them through customs, etc. You need to call information to get his Ph #, as his Web site is being re-erngineered. If nothing else call him to get some pointers, just don't abuse his friendliness.

As tempting as it may be to limit yourself to the tractors you like, don't. When I first started sell grays, there were ones I liked but people didn't want and some I didn't like that people wanted. You will being doing yourself a disservice by limiting your inventory. Now of course there are some tractors that people will want and will buy, but that doesn't make them good tractors and I won't sell those. Find a balance.

Well said Brent,
I too bought what I thought looked cool to sell, but didn't seem to be hot sellers right away. Sometimes also consider that older/simpler may sell to a do it yourselfer a little easier than the newer,flashier,more gadgets. You just never know.
