Yanmar Serial Numbers

Does anyone have or know of a way a serial number can be linked to a year of manufacture for YM model tractors? I have only found a range of 79'-81' for my YM1610D.....I do however remember seeing a site that mentioned models ending in 10, like the 1610 were made in 80'. Can anyone corroborate
this info? I cannot seem to find that site to list it for you guys, but will keep searching!

i too think i ran across the sight that listed tractors ending in 00 are xx years tractors ending in 2 are xx years and ones ending in 10 are xxyears and 20 xxyears and fx xx years. But im not sure what site it was but it was here in the last week or two?

Ya it was definitely in the last week or two, I should have bookmarked it! I am now only curious because I have a friend who wants to buy a 1610D like mine and needs exact data, for his note at the bank. I also think it would be great for others to be able to cross reference serial numbers and years...

the bank is going to use a 20+ year old tractor for collateral? None of the ones i talked to cared they said it was to old. Worked out better for me i just borrowed the few thousand againdt my toyota with usaa, everyone considered it a personal loan so they jacked up the interest, but i got it below 7% with USAA.

Its a small town ag bank, so yes they do. Might not be the norm, but it happens.......

Also found the site I referred to earlier concerning model numbers and years of manufacture for anyone interested.....

Bottom of the page after recon process, I cant comment on the accuracy of the information but that is indeed where I found it.

Also check gray market model specifications It appears that Hoye is associated with both sites, but there is conflicting mfg. date information.

The link in jlinn1's post is a website that we bought a few years ago from a company that was going out of business. We were going to use it for another project but it ended up not getting done. We left the site basically as it was when we bought it because there was a lot of good information on it.

I think there is around 180 pages on that site if you can find them all... it is really a mess. I still go through it every once and a while and work on it but had not even noticed that specs page before.

Didnt intend to out anyone with regards to inaccurate information, but instead see if anyone on here with a better understanding of model numbers and years of manufacture would post something to corroborate on its accuracy.

Actually wasnt aware of anyone who was associated with the site.
