I changed oil in the gear box tonight. One quick question.
When filling, just fill untill oil starts to come out of the plug in the back of the gear box?
Should I drain the oil that the chain runs in?
What type of service maintance should I give the tiller?
I grease it alot and though about changing the oil every other year.
thanks for all your help

I bought my Yanmar tiller last year, Changed oil in both cases. The oil in the chain case was much dirtier than the oil in the gear case. So if it hasn't been changed in a while I would definitely change it.

I second the oil change in the chain case. Several of the ones I changed had water in that oil. One time it froze and locked up the tiller. I usually fill it with diesel and spin it then drain and replace with 90 wt.
