Birky was right, this is one of the tractors with the front axle moved forward to accomodate the mower.

Can you move the axle forward without overstressing something?? I have a YM1500 and would love to get a MMM that I have under it. The MMM used to be on another yanny and I need a few more inches between my wheels to make it all work. I have the rear PTO gear set-up already.

The axle on the YM1500 seems like it would be relatively easy to move forward but I was afraid I would overstress the area where the front axle support side rails bolt to the base of the engine block. ANy advice would be appreciated.

I don't think I would be at all concerned about over-stressing the siderail-engine mounting. I agree, it sure looks like it would be easy to do. You just need to weld another piece between those rails, and move the axle forward. Even if it is 4wd, you just have to remove and lengthen the drive shaft and shield. I think it's a great mod! Go for it!!

thanks for the response...Of course I already painted it all. If I was a bit smarter I would have asked this sooner!!!! oh well. Anyway I think this may be a great little winter project. I let ya all know how it goes if I ever get it done.
