i have a yanmar ym 1500 and it has done a crank and im having no luck hunting one down.
is there anyone who might know where i could get one?

You might have better luck posting this in the Yanmar forum. There are several dealers that post there. If that Melbourne is the Australian one, you might hook up with another Aussie there with some suggestions, too.
