yanmar ym2000 help

I have a yanmar ym 2000 I have removed the shifter to check my gears bc high is popping out. Now I can't get my forks installed right, I need help with the proper position the forks are supposed to be with the gears please help. Illustration, link, please help me just get it back together I can use low

I have two Yanmar tractors but never pulled the shifter apart so unfortunately can't help with your problem. Great tractors though, good luck with the fix I'm sure someone here will be able to help

Be sure the tractor is in neutral (may need to get the tractor off the ground to do this). Then hold the cover level, and keep the shifter in neutral when reinstalling..........should slip right on.

And for future reference, always make sure the shifter and tranny are in neutral before disassembly. It makes reassembly easier.

But I also need to ask.....did you find the problem? The problem should not have been a gear, but more than likely a 'ball-detent' in the shifter itself..........or possibly a bent shifting fork(if someone pushed very hard on the shifter at one time).
