Long ago he posted pics of his renovations, I think including that one.

He is always helpful in threads about painting, and Yanmars in general. I think he's a retired body shop operator who gradually started renovating Yanmars. He has said at one time he was an instructor in the use of modern auto-painting techniques.

His completed projects are gorgeous.

I asked about service at my local Deere dealer and the service manager threw a tantrum.

I have read where others have said deere dealer wouldn't work on grey. I asked local deere dealer about working on mine . He said anything I couldn't do or didn't want to do , just bring it to their shop. He orders all grey parts from fredricks & would be happy to do any repairs as long as fredricks had the parts

Since it seems to be a fairly rare beast to match, probably get close and use a bit of artistic license.

Is the attached file one of his restorations?

Nostep,

For nearly five years I have conciously searched for the lime color 'factory paint code' and without success. I promised myself that if I ever do a restoration and re-paint on any of the green domestic models, I will have the paint matched, toners recorded and gladly spread the word and include the formula. As of yet, I haven't had a customer or a restoration on the green domestic models.

I have DuPont and PPG paint code books, paint formulas dating back to the '40's and several contacts in the refinishing industry....but the Yanmar always seems to fall between the cracks (somewhere between Yardman and Zetor).

Sorry I'm of no help.

Mark

What maching is that one from? I've run across your other rebuilt machines, including the YM1601. Beautiful. You remind me of my father. Thumbnails of his crazy machine from about 40 years ago. That 4 HP kohler would drag us kids all over the place :)

Track was made from huge link chain. He took it apart a few years after building it.

Check out his other stuff too:
