You've come to the right place. I have no personal experience with the YM1500, but there are many on this group who have. There have been many posts concerning this tractor. Try using the search function and you should be able to find most if not all of what you need.

There are a lot of 1500s out there. They are good tractors and I feel there are enough parts. However the 1500s are getting old and should sale for no more than $2300 tops. I would go for the newer 3 cylinder models such as the 1401, 1501, 1510, 1610 or 1810. You pay a little more but get a smoother engine and with some shuttle shift.

I have a YM 1500 that I use alot for grass cutting, tilling and hunt club work. It is a good little tractor. The tiller has no trouble with power. The 5 foot finish mower is pulled easily even in fairly tall grass, the 4 foot brush hog has no trouble with power but every time I am in the hunting club clearing out a stand site I wish I had a 4 wheel drive. When that brush hog starts smacking around on a tree or side hill it can be kinda scarey. I have 240# of weights on the front and that helps a good deal.

Maintenace has been easy, I have had no trubles in the 250 hours I have put on it in the last two years. Parts and manuals are easily availible from the dealers on this board.

The price seems good for this area.

My advise: Buy as much tractor (HP wise) as you can afford and pick up used implements later. I didn't buy mine it came with the house/farm but I do wish I had more weight and 4 wheel drive.

Great tractor for what it is intended for and has more torque per hp than any of the 3 or 4 cylinder models. What do you want to use it for and what is the most important implement that you want to use. Maybe you want to dredge canals in Panama; in that instance it would be a horrible tractor. Give us more info then we can give you educated opinions.

I just brought 8 Acre Of land . Alot of brush clearing,Id like to have a 1 acre garden and some land grading. After that it would be used for ground maintance.

I would go with at least a YM2000 or bigger for what you are doing.

I own a YM1500 with 4 foot bush hog which is used to maintain 5 clear acres. As soon as I can scrape up enough money, I'll purchase a larger tractor. Browsing the boards and talking to other owners has me leaning towards at least 25 HP and a 5 foot bush hog.
