hey yall! i am bran-spankin' new at this site. seems to be a good site. i have owned a yanmar 2700 now for about 3 mos., and i just need some basic info. im new to the import tractors, was raised on big ol fords and such. i cant seem to find any good places close by that will get me parts or even a manual. anyway here goes-- how often to change filters& fluids what types of fluids(oil grades) and any info on themanuals. the battery keeps makin a sizzling noise. my basic mechanical skills tell me that this could be wrong battery or a problem with the volt reg. any thoughts? thanks yall, and God bless.

If you've owned old fords.. carry some of that knowledge over.
Do at least yearly oil changes or twice a year in heavy usage.
Service your air cleaner often.. Thes yanmar elements can be blown out and washed.
I use 30wt oil rated for diesel service in mine.. and JD303/hytran or equivalent universal transdraulic fluid in the diffy/tranny/hyd common sump.
If your unit has a water pump ( I think it does ) run standard coolant mix for your region/temps.. etc.. if not.. run it with less antifreeze in the water..
Change fuel filter if it loads up with watr.. or if it gets visibly dirty or algea growth.
Some of us also like to use power service diesel addative in the fuel tank. Helps with gelling and can control algea growth ( depending on mixture you get ).
If you hear siziling.. clean all the connections. If the battery is having the water boiled out.. it is overcharging. Could be anything from a bad battery.. to overcharging...
