An 85 year old woman could easily be knocked over by an excited Newfy pup, even if it was not scared.
As for aggressiveness, our Newf (long gone) used to go crazy when someone rang the door bell. I'm sure the UPS driver never entertained a thought about coming back at night and breaking in, LOL. (OTOH, he could have walked around to the back door and entered quietly and been greeted with great enthusiasm!....just don't ring the door bell!)
