Yet another complaint about BX24 tires

The tires that come on a BX24 suck. That's all I can conclude. After getting flats all the time, I put tubes in the front tires. One of the tubes went flat the other day (which I think was my fault from the tube installation, so I take the blame for that), so I said screw it and went and replaced the tire with a Carlisle. $120 for one tire. :thumbdown: I'm confident that I'll be much happier though. I had a tractor from 1973 that had its original Carlisles on it when I sold it in 2007, and I never had to patch them. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The only problem with mine were the valve stems. Cheap junk that leaked especially the right front. They were so flexible that I practically pulled the old ones out by hand. I replaced them all with metal and low and behold, no more leaks. Inexpensive fix.

Yeah, I had problems with those as well. They rotted out pretty quickly. But even the tires seemed pretty fragile. I'm afraid to touch them when I have a hangnail.

One of my front tires leaked, but I put slime in them and that seemed to pretty much stop, or greatly slow down whatever was leaking.

Wow!!!Those must be AG tires....when I was having front tire issues on the new BX2660, beside fixing the bead with sealer, I bought a spare wheel and mounted tire (turf type) from the Kubota dealer and it cost $57 for the whole thing. But,again, the tire was the OE Grassmaster brand...not Carlisle.

Like others, only tire problem I've had are cheesy Chinese valve stems. Before replacing stems...knowing they leaked, I always checked pressure to make sure I wasn't operating FEL on low tires. Thankfully, no problems with rears...they're filled...

Only real "tire" problem I've had is traction, and that's more a weight issue than tire...

I'm too suffering the front flats. I tried cleaning the bead seat and tire- still leaks. I bought the spray bead sealer, I couldnt find the brush on type that I wanted. It seemed to work for 2 months and now its leaking again. I replaced the tire stems in the rear, but havent in the front. When I dunk the front tire int he pool I always see the tiny bubbles from the bead area. After I dig out the tree stump today, I'll check out the tire this week and let you know what I find, for now I'll top it off with more air.

Radio - sounds like you may have/had low tire pressure. Once crud gets between rim/bead, rust can start...then it's break bead, clean, and paint time... Afterward, keep front tires inflated to max.

Eeesh. I don't consider myself a "wimpy" user, but 315+ hours of widely varied use and I haven't had a flat or even a slow leak on my OE GrassMaster turf tires.

I'm knocking on all available wood and wood products, of course.

When mine die I am getting 4 ply ones not the 2 ply rated ones that came with them they should hold up better
For now tubes in the front with slime and about a gallon of slime in the each rear tire have been holding up for a year or two.
