If the new pump is NOS, it might be possible that the new pump has the old type gears in it which are prone to breaking. IMO, if your problem is the pump, you would be better off replacing the three pump gears which is the source of the failure.

If it is a tooth broke off, then it痴 less than 100 bucks even with the parts shipped over night and a couple hours work. It could be the stop solenoid simply not working and keeping the fuel shut off or any number of things besides a broken rack.[/QUOT

Could be but total rebuild of $3-500 isnt bad either. Either way if they misdiagnosed and the new part doesnt start it, I pay 0. I have their $17,500 in hand and not releasing another penny.

So now it’s getting rebuilt , your prior post you said they wanted a new pump.

...It could be the stop solenoid simply not working and keeping the fuel shut off or any number of things besides a broken rack.
Or the fuse for the SS pull coil or the display module that generates the 1 sec pulse for the pull coil or the key switch (very common), or the glow relay or the pull coil relay or any number of fuel feed issues (blockage, air, etc.) and so forth. The earlier incident with runaway RPM suggests a problem in the IP but that is certainly not conclusive.

But sounds like OP has solved his problem contractually.

I think my CK30 8 speed just went down with this at 515 hours, bought her new in 2006. When the trouble started the RPMs rose to 2500 or so then it died. I waited about ten minutes, it restarted, ran for a few moments then died for good. I bled at the fuel filter, then bled at the injector pump inlet. Next I tried to bleed the injector pump outlets and get nothing. The fuel rail is dry too. I will try the whole bleed sequence one more time then pull the oil fill plate off and check the gears in the pump.

Sounds familiar.
Seems the 2005-2008 models had the issue.

Plastic, who uses plastic on gears on an injection pump? My gear two had 2 notches knocked off.
